for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
My favorite piece of sculpture in Ireland from the gifted hands of Niall Bruton. I never drive through Sligo without stopping to see her. In honor of those lost to the sea, I will donate all of my profits from this print to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. For more information about the RNLI, please visit http://www.rnli.org.uk/ or go online and donate today!

The plaque at the base of the sculpture reads:
This sculpture reflects the age-old anguish of a seafaring people who watched and waited for the safe return of loved ones. The men and women of Rosses Point Parish have a proud history of courage and survival, of loss and grief that should not be forgotten by future generations. It is to honour the memory of these who once lived, sailed, or were lost at sea, that this woman, cast in bronze, stands to day on our headland.
Lost at sea, lost at sea
Or in the evening tide
We loved you, we miss you
May God be with you abidenear the Rosses Point Lifeboat Station
